How do I plan a route?

First, touch the Route button on the top right hand corner. This would then allow you to choose your starting and ending points.

If you know the names of the stations that you will be travelling to and from, just touch on the Stations button and a clearly indexed list of station names will appear.

If you do not know the name of the station but know the place where you wish to go to or from, for example, The Oriental Pearl Tower, use the Places button to choose from a ready list of places and your Shanghai metro app will work out the nearest station to that place, automatically.

How can I view my planned route?

Your planned route can be displayed in one of three ways:

  • Highlighted on the metro map, whereby only the lines relevant to your journey is highlighted
  • As an itinerary showing the times between stations and the changes you will require
